Issue date: 16.05.07
The benefits of FractureCode track and trace technology have been recognised at the European AUTO ID awards, where the company has won the coveted “Barcode Award” for its patented symbology.
Presented by AIM EMEA and IBC EUROFORUM GmbH, the European Auto ID Awards are designed to celebrate the innovative application of current know-how and the research and development of new technologies within the dynamic Auto ID market. Only three awards are granted, “RFID”, “Barcode” and “Innovative company”, with the Barcode Award available to companies that show the development of coding systems for mass applications, new applications, standardisation, ISO / IEC, interaction with RFID.
The launch of FractureCode in 2006 delivered industry’s most powerful, cross-platform coding system, enabling document issuers and manufacturing organisations to track and authenticate products down to individual item level.
Market applications include tax stamps, id cards, passports and visas, and consumer goods prone to counterfeiting such as pharmaceuticals, alcohol and tobacco.
FractureCode technology provides more than 2.7x1080 different combinations, guaranteeing uniqueness at the level of the individual item. When used in conjunction with a database, FractureCode effectively becomes a product specific “fingerprint” that can be independently re-used across the supply chain by all interested parties – manufacturer, distributor, customs official and retailer – to record or access information.
“We have always felt that FractureCode represents a revolution in track and trace, so we are delighted to have been recognised by our peers” comments Jacob Götzsche, Managing Director.
